what i don’t know
won’t hurt me.
i choose to elude.
i’m a sensitive soul.
and careless words
easily send me
into a deeply
depressive state.
i refuse to
hear your indignities.
i’d rather hear
your compliments.
i’m megalomaniac.
i’ve always thought
that the world
has always been
on my side.
so if you say
bad things about me,
i feel that the whole
universe betrays me.
i’m used to winning.
i can’t lose.
i usually get
what i want.
if things don’t
go that way,
i’m woebegone.
so break me
bruise me,
teach me
a lesson.
help me realize
that in most situations,
i am the problem…
